There are many challengesfor both Survivors and Killers inDead by Daylight. These challenges often give rewards, like Rift FragmentsorBloodpoints. The challenges are similar to those in other games, requiring players to perform specific tasks, altering the way they play the game. Oftentimes, they make the game more difficult by diverting the player's attention to something other than the main goal.
Glyphs are no different. In the past, there have beenRed and Blue Glyphs in Dead by Daylightrifts. Both are accessible by the Survivors, while only Red Glyphs can be accessed by the Killer. Purple Glyphs are a new additiontothe Halloween event, and are the only Killer-exclusive glyph in the game.

Purple Glyphs can be activated by a challenge in the Tome before joining a game, and there area few things that need to be done before Killerslike the newestDead by Daylightaddition, Pinhead, can commune with them in-game. Doing so will earn the player one Rift Fragment and 25,000 Bloodpoints.
How to Commune With Purple Glyphs in Dead by Daylight
The first thing a Killer must do inDead by Daylight in order to commune with a Purple Glyph, is to hook a Survivor. Once a survivor is hooked, the Killer who has activated the challenge will see a Purple Glyph spawning.Anotherunique aspect of Purple Glyphs, other than the fact that itonly presents itself to the Killer, is that it will move. The Killer will likely not have time to commune with it at first sight, but once it starts to move away, the Purple Glyphwill leave a trail.
The trail looks like small glowing purple puddles, scattered in the directionthatthe Glyph is moving. Follow the trail, and once the Killer is in close proximity to the Glyph, it will appear. Commune with it by getting close enough to get an "Interact" prompt, the keybind/button used is typically the same as the one used to attack. Purple Glyphsdo not give a negative status effect to the killer, as some Glyphs will with survivors.
Communing with Glyphsis a great way to earn extra Bloodpoints, and continue on the path of a chosen tome. The downfall, however, is the waste of precious time in a match. Balancing the pros and cons of completing side challenges is a constant struggle in Dead by Daylight.
