With the exception of the mid part and a few episodes close to the end, "The Rising of the Shield Hero" emerges as an excellent title that manages to differ from the plethora of similar anime, due to its overall context.

I was immediately hooked on the story and several of the twists presented. Sadly, by the end of the first season, it became clear whatever world creation and character development the writer was attempting would be thrown out in favor of blatant harem building.Mid-first season, a group of young men are actually accepted into the group, after our hero helps save their town. They are then teleported (as party members) with the protagonists to the following "Wave" (event) where they help in the evacuation of others. Great. Then nothing. Despite the fact they should be teleported to the following Wave, we see nothing more of them. Their "purpose" served, they are forgotten, with the rules presented in the story thrown out in the process. By the end of Season 1, new party space is given to even more female characters. And while early entries were well developed and provided with solid reasons for being present, valuable, and loyal, the later additions are far less fleshed out. One such girl rapidly agreeing to undergo a magical contract to be his slave (as a suggestion of another girl in his harem) despite her affection for a different male hero.What was originally a powerful story, with an interesting premise, begins to unravel in an attempt to by the writer to simply surround the main character with more women. I'm fine with male fantasy driven stories, but there comes a point where it becomes absurdity, and this anime crosses that line in a blundering fashion. Rated 1.5/5 Stars • Rated 1.5 out of 5 stars 06/20/23 Full Review Black B Que gran temporada, se que el genero del cual deriva está serie es bastante repetitivo o común con sus historias pero está serie le da un tono totalmente diferente a mi parecer y se arriesga mucho a comparación de otras series, nos muestra un héroe el cual no es el mejor (aunque tras el transcurso de la serie va siendo el mejor) ya que por algunas circunstancias le toco la peor arma que pudo tener, pero aun así tras el transcurso de estos episodios vemos su mejoría de poco a poco, también algo que me agrado mucho fue el como van siguiendo una historia la cual es bastante adulta o mínimo nos hace empatizar con el protagonista que nunca habíamos visto antes, no se encasilla en vencer al villano sino que nos van demostrando el mundo de la serie es mas complejo de lo que esperamos y eso le da un matiz diferente a toda la serie que a mi parecer hace que mejore muchísimo.Hay algunos problemas como lo puede ser el hecho de que contiene relleno o fan service que aunque para mi es malo se que es un sello del genero, junto que a la mitad de la serie se vuelve un poco aburrido ademas de que hay episodios los cuales me van a gustar mas que otros por lo innovadores o entretenidos que son estos a comparación de otros.Creo que está es una temporada bastante recomendable si quieres ver una buena serie del genero de reencarnar en otro mundo pero también si solo quieres pasar el rato también está es una gran opción.
