Located north of Los Angeles in Valencia, Six Flags Magic Mountain is one of the most well-known parks in the Six Flags amusem*nt park chain, and is the only park in the chain to be open year-round.

If you like roller coasters, then you are in the right place. Six Flags Magic Mountain has more thrill rides than anywhere else on earth. With over 100 rides, Six Flags Magic Mountain is one of Los Angeles area most popular family theme parks.

The park is organized into eight areas. As far as getting around is concerned, you can save yourself some time by using the Metro Monorail or the Orient Express instead of walking across the park.

Getting to Six Flags Magic Mountain is not as complicated as it might look. Here are your options:

Six Flags Magic Mountain (6)Take the Interstate 5 Freeway north. Exit Magic Mountain Parkway. Turn left at the traffic signal at the bottom of the exit ramp going under the Freeway overpass. Proceed along Magic Mountain Parkway to the parking toll booths and the Park entrances.

From Downtown Los Angeles
Metro Red Line – NoHo 757 Express route: From Downtown Los Angeles, take the Metro Red Line to the North Hollywood Station. Then take the North Hollywood 757 Express bus (NoHo 757 Express) to the McBean Regional Transit Station (MRTC). From there connect to a Santa Clarita Transit routes 3 & 7 to Six Flags Magic Mountain.

By Metrolink train
From Union Station Downtown LA., take the Metro Link train (Antelope Valley Line) to the Newhall Station. From there, you can easily hop on either Santa Clarita Transit route 1 & 2 or 4 & 14 to the MRTC. Both lines service the Newhall Station every 15 minutes so you won't wait long. From the MRTC, transfer onto a route 3 & 7 which takes you directly to Six Flags amusem*nt park.

Note: City of Santa Clarita Transit will honor Metrolink fare ticket when the origin/ destination pair includes the trip to be taken on the bus.

Six Flags Magic Mountain Tips

Do you know that you can board your pet for FREE at Six Flags kennel while you visit the park. The kennel is located in the main parking lot. DO NOT LEAVE YOUR PET IN OR TIED TO A VEHICLE WHILE YOU VISIT THE PARK.
Bring a jacket or sweatshirt for cool mornings and evenings. Store it in the lockers near the main entrance.
Arrange a meeting place and time in case your party becomes separated.
A good way to avoid long lines at a popular ride is to get to the gate before the park opens, have your route plotted, be among the first in the door and make a beeline for that famous coaster before the crowds arrive.
